Showcasing the rich visual history and sophisticated future of malware and computer viruses in a museal context
Malware: Symptoms of Viral Infection exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam — spatial design concept, graphic design and art direction in collaboration with Bas van de Poel for Het Nieuwe Instituut.
The visual language of the exhibition was inspired by a dystopian version of server racks and computer casings. By re-interpreting ready made materials, this visual language could be implemented through the whole exhibition while taking on different forms.
The visual interpretations of the stories behind the viruses and malware were crafted by Tomorrow Bureau
